12 Δεκ Fix the Fixing Launch Event in Cyprus
11/12/2017. The Cyprus Sport Organization organised the launch event in Nicosia. Key stakeholders representing sport federattions and the fitness industry attended the event. The event was welcomed by the President of the CSO, Mr. Kleanthis Georgiadis, stressing the Agency’s determination to counter the phenomenon through the implementation of the code of good administration and good governance and zero tolerance for corruption, while MP Christos Orphanides (former member of the Board of Directors) welcomed the event, highlighting the great importance of the recent parliamentary resolution with the new Legislation on Racing Management as a first step in the right direction. The main speakers were Dr. Kostas Solomos (CSO official) representing the CSO in the European Union, who has analyzed the course and activities of the Organization on a European level so far, Michalis Michaelides (Scientific Head of Cyprus Center for Sports Medicine), who is also the coordinator of the Erasmus Plus program for the Cyprus Sports Organization.
Dr Michaelides presented the Fix the Fixing Tool and a discussion followed on the particularities of implementation of the tool in real life settings.
